Seoul, Nov. 7, 2025 — Rowan (ROWAN), an AI-driven innovation company, won the Grand Prize for ICT Patent Management at the Global ICT Standards Conference (GISC) 2025, which opened at EL Tower in Seoul. The award is conferred by Korea’s Presidential Council on Intellectual Property (PCIP).
Rowan said the honor recognizes the company’s distinctive IP strategy and innovation anchored by its “therapeutic AI for digital therapeutics,” which it describes as the first of its kind globally.
The judging cited Rowan’s leadership in digital therapeutics technology and its aggressive, protection-oriented IP management as key contributors. Earlier, Rowan reported that the efficacy of its proprietary therapeutic AI had been published in an international journal, enabling scientifically guided, personalized cognitive-function improvement tailored to each patient’s characteristics and condition.
According to Rowan, the PCIP commended the company for establishing a “virtuous-cycle IP management system”—one that goes beyond mere technology development to systematically protect innovation while addressing difficult problems in healthcare. Rowan added that its IP performance is emerging as a core growth driver amid accelerating technology convergence and hyper-competition, positioning the firm as a model case among Korean ICT companies.
Seung-hyun Han, CEO of Rowan, said, “We are honored to receive this prestigious award from the Presidential Council on Intellectual Property. It reflects the commitment of all Rowan employees who have focused on forward-looking R&D and IP acquisition.”
He added, “Building on this recognition, we will further strengthen our IP capabilities and actively engage in global standardization to help solidify Korea’s global IP leadership in AI and digital healthcare.”
