Rowan, a digital therapeutic device development company, announced on the 21st that it will present its vision for dementia prevention using digital therapeutic devices at the upcoming ‘Global Dementia Conference’ on the 22nd. This conference, the largest of its kind in Korea, is hosted by the Korean Dementia Association and the Cognitive Intervention Therapy Society, where experts will discuss the latest dementia research trends and strategies for overcoming dementia through non-drug treatments.


Rowan is the main sponsor of this conference. The company recently completed the development of the digital therapeutic device “SuperBrain DEX” for improving mild cognitive impairment and received approval from the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety (MFDS) for a confirmatory clinical trial.


The conference will be divided into two sessions. In the first session, renowned neuroscientist Dr. Marwan Sabbagh from the Barrow Neurological Institute (BNI) in the U.S. will speak via video on “Global Dementia Drug Research Trends,” discussing the latest developments in dementia drug research.


Following this, Dr. Arthur Kramer from Northeastern University will present on “Exercise and Brain Cognition,” highlighting the relationship between exercise and cognitive abilities. Additionally, Dr. Katsuaki Yoshida from Tsurumi Rehabilitation Hospital in Yokohama, Japan, will discuss “Japanese Non-Drug Therapy for Dementia,” focusing on non-drug approaches to dementia treatment in Japan.


The second session will feature Professor Dong-Won Yang from Catholic University’s St. Mary’s Hospital, who will give a lecture on “Dementia Reality and Implications in South Korea.” This will be followed by a panel discussion with Rowan CEO Seung-Hyun Han, Dr. Michael Merzenich from Posit Science, and other leading figures in the dementia industry.
