Rowan Co., Ltd. (CEO Seung-Hyun Han), a digital treatment device development company, has announced on the 21st that clinical research is underway for a digital cognitive training program called "Super Brain." This program combines cognitive function improvement management diet and is developed in collaboration with Our Home (CEO Ji-Eun Koo), a global food company, and Professor Yoo-Kyung Park from Kyung Hee University Graduate School of East-West Medicine.

The clinical study aims to prevent mild cognitive impairment and dementia through a 12-week trial. It involves 100 elderly individuals aged 65 or older from 7 day and night care centers (day care centers) in the metropolitan area. The participants are divided into three groups: ▲general diet ▲cognitive function improvement management diet ▲cognitive training program + cognitive function improvement management diet. The study measures the cognitive function change trends based on the different conditions, conducts physical ability tests, and performs blood tests.

This initiative reflects Rowan's efforts to expand its business areas and enhance its competitive edge by integrating cognitive function improvement management diet with digital treatment devices.

Rowan is conducting a clinical trial using the digital cognitive training program called "Super Brain." This program utilizes cognitive intervention therapy techniques to potentially delay the onset of dementia. Previous clinical trials conducted from 2018 to 2020 on 152 individuals over the age of 60 have demonstrated not only improvements in cognitive abilities but also positive effects on biomarkers. An official from Rowan stated, "The aim of this clinical trial is to reaffirm the effectiveness of Super Brain and establish a synergistic effect of dementia prevention when combined with a specific diet."

The cognitive function improvement management menu has been developed in collaboration with Ourhome, a global food company, and under the supervision of Professor Yukyung Park from the Graduate School of East-West Medicine at Kyung Hee University. This menu focuses on incorporating nutrients essential for brain health by utilizing food ingredients rich in dietary fiber and limiting the usage of saturated and trans fatty acids.

Based on the outcomes of this clinical study, Rowan intends to expand its business to day and night protection centers (day care centers) nationwide. It is anticipated that the program will be actively utilized in senior welfare facilities where cognitive activity programs and meals are provided.

Seung-Hyeon Han, CEO of Rowan, emphasized the importance of a preventive approach to managing dementia, stating, "Dementia, a challenging condition to cure, necessitates a proactive management strategy."

Established in 2017, Rowan specializes in the development of digital treatment devices employing big data and artificial intelligence. The company offers personalized solutions based on its advanced technology that combines AI with professional medical knowledge. Through the utilization of IT technology, Rowan is leading the way in a future-oriented model of non-drug treatment by collecting and analyzing cognitive function information of patients' brains.
